PDL at 6th African Dairy Conference Numereous Visitors attracted to Paramount Cheese! ______________________________ Between 19-21 May 2010, Paramount Dairies Ltd was part of the Uganda Dairy Processors Assoc. (UDPA) booth at the 6th African Dairy Conference (Serena Hotel - Kigali). The display attracted alot of positive comment - encouraging PDL to roll out strongly its products on the Rwanda market

PDL and BUDS (Private Sector Foundation) Sign Agreement for a TAF Grant value USD20,896 on 11Jan10 __________________________ The BUDS project (Private Sector Foundation) has appreciated the new technology developped by PDL and has, under the Technology Aquisition Fund (TAF), supported the installation of a 150KW Milk Pasteurization Plant at the new factory premises. |

PDL develops 500lts TLUD Milk Pasteurizer ______________________________ After building and experimenting with smaller prototypes, PDL developed a 30KW TLUD gasifier, using readily available materials: 200lt oil drum and seamless steel pipes of 125mm-dia and 150mm-dia of 6m length. The gasifier burns on readily available biomass fuels, such as maize cobs and papyrus reed. Milk pasteurized by 30KW TLUD Gasifier

PDL and CREEC Sign Cooperation Agreement on 21Apr09 __________________________ In the search for appropriate and economical pasteurization of milk in Uganda, Paramount Dairies has signed up a MOU with the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC) - a programme within the Faculty of Technology, Makerere University. The present focus is the generation of hot water, using a pipe heat exchanger coupled with a gasifier. |

PDL and Mbarara University (MUST) Sign Historic Agreement on 13Jun08 __________________________ In furthering the understanding of microbiological control and safety standards in dairy-processing, PDL and the Faculty of Medicine, Mbarara University of Science & Technology have signed an agreement for a two year period of co-operation. This agreement is one of its first of its kind involving the university and a private dairy-processing firm. |

PDL Participates RITF2008, Kigali ______________________________ The Paramount Dairies Marketing team participated at the Rwanda International Trade Fair (28 August - 3 September) and found considerable interest for its cheese products in Kigali. It was an opportunity also to visit existing clients. PDL now has a distributor for the Rwanda market; KIME Alimentation-Boucherie-Poissonerie managed by M. Invited to the 8th IFCN Conference in Kiel, Germany ______________________________ PDL was invited as a Uganda dairy processor to share with the conference the challenges and opportunities of dairy processing in East Africa. The conference participants came from around the world; sharing insights and ideas that gave the gathering a truly world-wide vision of the state and development of milk production. Sincere thanks to FAO and to the IFCN Chairman, Dr. Torsten Hemme for making PDL's presence a reality. |

UDPA Team goes to 3rd African Dairy Conference, Lusaka, Zambia – May'07 This year's theme was: “African Dairy: the Future is Technology” and the conference attracted over 200 delegates, many from the southern region of Africa. The Uganda team was eight of which four came as invited guests under the generosity of ESADA. The Uganda exhibit was graced with a visit from the Zambian President, Prof Levy Mwanawasa as well as from many of the delegates. Special thanks go to the ABDC/ASPS project under Danida and the BUDS programme for assisting the UDPA to participate. PDL was among the UDPA members to exhibit. PDL exhibits at the Uganda's International Trade Show Oct'07 As in 2006, the PDL exhibit proved to be very popular, especially among the school children groups. We had opportunity to have our full range of cheeses available for sampling. |

UDPA hosts 2nd African Dairy Conference __________________________ The 2nd African Dairy Conference was held at the spacious Munyonyo-Speke Resort in May 2006, attracting 40 exhibitors and more that 200 participants. The theme; “African Dairy: Arising to the Challenge” stimulated a series of interesting discussions. Noteworthy was the one by Dr. Banerjee, the Chairman of the India Dairy Association over the Milk Revolution that propelled India into the world's largest milk producer. Participating as well was Dr. Christian Robert, Director General of IDA. PDL exhibits at the Conference and shares with the delegates its "Premium Gouda". |

PDL exhibits at the Uganda's International Trade Show Oct'06 Over 5,000 show-goers get to sample fine Uganda cheese at the PDL booth. Its proves to be a great opportunity to share opinions and comments with the public. The local television WBS airs a 30sec brief about PDL and its offerings at the show. Hundreds of school children get their first taste of cheese. PDL exhibits at the 1st East African School Milk Conference In November, the Dairy Development, together with the FAO, organized this conference to focus on the benefits of having school-feeding programmes. Speakers from across Africa attested to the positive impact such programmes had on student health and intellectual growth. His Excellency, President Museveni graced the function and exhibit and assured the conference of Uganda's commitment to improve child health through such schemes. PDL featured among the exhibitors. |

At the 1st African Dairy Conference __________________________ Paramount Dairies Ltd participates at the 1st African Dairy Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya, during May 2005. PDL joined with several other Uganda processors in an exhibition under the banner of the Uganda Dairy Processors Association. The exhibit attracted many visitor from all over Africa as well as from Kenya. |

PDL MD Elected ESADA Chairman __________________________ PDL Managing Director, Eng. John Anglin, is elected as ESADA's first Chairman and the venue of the 2nd African Dairy Conference is now planned to be in Kampala, Uganda next year. |
